Hershey Pie Ingredients

You will need:

  • 9 inches chocolate pie crust
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 7 ounces marshmallow fluff
  • 6 Hershey’s chocolate bars, broken into pieces (plus more for decorating)
  • 16 ounces Cool Whip, divided in half
  • Hot fudge sauce, for garnish

Substitutions and Additions

CRUST: We used a pre-made chocolate cookie crust for ease in this no-bake dessert, but you can also make your own crushed Oreo pie crust. 

How to Make Hershey Pie

PRO TIP: It is so easy to make the chocolate pie filling by melting the chocolate bars and folding in the Cool Whip. This method of making the chocolate filling, along with the marshmallow fluff in the cream cheese layer both contribute to a softer set pie.

STEP ONE: In a medium mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and marshmallow fluff until light and creamy.

STEP TWO: Spread the cream cheese mixture into the bottom of the chocolate pie crust.

PRO TIP: Save the dome cover from the premade pie crust to cover the no-bake pie and store it in the fridge.

STEP THREE: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the Hershey’s bar pieces in 30-second increments, stirring between intervals until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Fold 8 ounces of the Cool Whip into the melted chocolate and spread the mixture over the cream cheese layer in the pie crust.

PRO TIP: Cool Whip can be piped onto the Hershey pie. Cool Whip is soft and doesn’t pipe with fine detail, but you can certainly pipe some soft swirls. Use a stabilized whipped cream for more precise swirls/definition.

STEP FOUR: Refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours to set the pie. Top pie with dollops or piped swirls of remaining Cool Whip and additional Hershey’s bar pieces. Serve with a drizzle of hot fudge, if desired.

PRO TIP: For the ultimate clean slices, freeze the pie for several hours after assembly.
