  • 36 candy eyeballs
  • 9 brown M&M’s
  • 9 red M&M’s
  • 36 small twisted pretzels for the antlers

Substitutions and Additions

FROSTING: If you do not have milk chocolate frosting, you can add brown gel food color to a tub of vanilla frosting.

ANTLERS: Small candy canes can be substituted for the pretzel antlers in these festive holiday brownies.

How to Make Reindeer Brownies

STEP ONE: Prepare the brownies according to the directions on the box. Be sure to use a 9×13 baking pan.

STEP TWO: Once the brownies are baked, allow the brownies to completely cool before cutting them into the triangles.

STEP THREE: Carefully transfer the brownies from the pan to a large cutting board.

STEP FOUR: Evenly cut the brownies into 3 equal horizontal sections.

STEP FIVE: Cut 4 diagonal sections to make a diamond pattern.

STEP SIX: Then cut the diamonds in half. This should give you 18 full-shaped triangles.

STEP SEVEN: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

STEP EIGHT: Transfer the triangles to the prepared baking sheet.

STEP NINE: Using an offset spatula, neatly ice the halved diamonds.

STEP TEN: Place an M&M at the bottom of one of the triangle ends for the nose.

PRO TIP: Little people would love to be assigned the task of decorating these adorable Rudolph brownies. Plus, their kid interpretations of a reindeer’s face would be so sweet.

STEP ELEVEN: Place 2 of the candy eyeballs in the center of the triangle.

STEP TWELVE: Then place 1 pretzel “antler” on the remaining 2 triangle points.

STEP THIRTEEN: Another option is to use a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Beginning on the top edge of the brownies, and working toward the opposite end, cut out the hearts.

STEP FOURTEEN: Carefully frost the heart-shaped brownies with the chocolate frosting.

STEP FIFTEEN: Just above the point of the heart, place the brown or red M&M for the nose.

STEP SIXTEEN: Place the eyes in the center of the heart.

STEP SEVENTEEN: Just before serving, place the antlers.

PRO TIP: If you are not serving the brownies right away, you will need to place the pretzel antlers right before serving. The pretzels will become stale if left out of the package.
