Coffee Smoothie

Coffee smoothie is a satisfying way to start your day. The creamy treat is full of rich coffee flavor and loaded with bananas, milk, honey, and cacao powder.

Ingredients
  

  • ¾ cup cold strong brewed coffee
  • ½ cup whole milk or almond milk
  • 2 medium frozen ripe bananas cubed
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons unsweetened cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup crushed ice cubes
  • Canned whipped cream optional garnish

Instructions
 

  • Add the coffee, milk, frozen bananas, honey, cacao powder, and ice cubes to a blender.
  • Pulse a few times to get the blender blades going, then blend for 20 to 30 seconds until smooth.
  • Pour into two 16-ounce glasses. Garnish with canned whipped cream if desired.

Notes

If you are looking for a stronger coffee flavor, try 2 shots of espresso rather than regular coffee.
This recipe makes two drinks. You can easily double or half the recipe to adjust the number of servings, although we'd recommend keeping the cocoa powder measurement as is.
If you choose to use the cacao powder, just be aware that if you are caffeine sensitive, it may be better to cut the powder to 1 teaspoon or use 1 teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa powder.
If you find your smoothie is too thick, adding a little bit more milk or coffee will help thin it out to a drinkable consistency.
