Spiked hot chocolate is a rich homemade hot chocolate made from scratch with creamy milk, rich chocolate, walnut liqueur, and topped with homemade whipped cream.

Hot Chocolate
- 2 cups whole milk
- ½ teaspoon cornstarch
- ⅓ cup dark chocolate chips
- ¼ cup white chocolate chips
- 2 ounces walnut liqueur
Whipped Cream
- ⅓ cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons walnut liqueur
- ½ teaspoon confectioners' sugar
- ½ teaspoon maple syrup
In a medium saucepan, combine milk and cornstarch. Whisk until smooth.
Heat milk on medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until it begins to boil.
Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate chips.
Add the walnut liqueur.
In a small bowl, mix the heavy cream, walnut liqueur, confectioners' sugar, and maple syrup. Whip until stiff peaks form.
Top with maple whipped cream or marshmallows.
As always, you can make this a non-alcoholic version by omitting the liqueur.

Chilling the bowl and beaters before adding the ingredients makes it easier to make the whipped cream since cream whips best when cold.
